Health Insurance
Health insurance is required for travel outside the United States. International health insurance is available from Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) at a nominal cost to faculty, students and staff traveling abroad on a Õ¥Ö¼§-sponsored activity; for international travel only. Students, faculty and staff must complete the two weeks before departure.
Upon enrollment, CISI will send an email enrollees can use to:
- Print their participant ID card
- Create a MyCISI portal login
- Download the MyCISI app
Individuals will generally have no co-pays for covered medical care. If you do pre-pay, you can submit a claim for reimbursement.
CISI additionally provides coverage for:
- Routine Medical Visits
- Hospitalizations
- Emergency Care
- Medical and psychiatric evacuation
Note: It is advised that students maintain their domestic medical insurance while abroad.

Faculty and Staff Travel Leaders
- Traveling with Students to High-Risk Destinations
- Faculty and Staff Travel Registry:
- The is to be completed by faculty and staff who are taking students on Õ¥Ö¼§-sponsored travel, including off-campus class trips, or are traveling independently abroad on Õ¥Ö¼§ business.
- For faculty and staff traveling with students, please ensure that the students have submitted the (if traveling for a course project) or the (if traveling on a non-course related project).
Students
Students traveling on a Õ¥Ö¼§ program or independently are required to complete the appropriate Travel Registry application: (if traveling for a course project) or the (if traveling on a non-course related project). Requirements included are:
- Acknowledgement of risk and responsibility
- Emergency contacts
- HIPPA authorization
- Confidential medical report (if applicable)
- Independent/other travel registry
- Travel advisories to review
